Andy Gavin’s Eatery & Pub

Washington Ave

Scranton, PA

"Hi this is Don Surace owner of Andy Gavin’s and I’m looking for Tom……….."

"Back in ’88, soon after I bought Gavin’s, a woman came up to me at a party and told me that I’d never be able to rent the upstairs apartment because it’s haunted. That’s when I first heard about it."

Andy Gavin’s has been a landmark in Scranton since 1988, before that it was Kaplan’s Bar. The building itself dates back 100 years or more and it’s paranormal history may date back to a coal miner from the 1800’s.

Cursed

by Bill Gould

"Do you know the history of this place?" He says turning to the light-eyed woman in the expensive linen business suit. She gently dabs an equally expensive linen handkerchief under her chin and each of her eyes to wipe away the perspiration, but she is careful not to smear her mascara. Her mocha skin glistens slightly as they walk through the old house; their foot falls making a loud clattering noise as they move. She isn’t an overly large woman, more curvy than anything else.

The R&R Station Family Restaurant & Inn

MT. PLEASANT, PA - The R&R Station was built in 1883 in an era of expansion - the B&O Railroad arrived first in 1853 and the Pennsylvania Railroad arrived in 1881. Settlers were moving west.

Stories from the Hotel

  • Something odd caught Sherry Wingrove's attention late one night as she cleaned the restaurant. Looking over a railing into a staircase leading to the lower level bar, she noticed a young boy. After a brief second look at the apparition, she fled the room. Guests often report the sounds of children playing in the halls.

Paranormal Tech 101 Editing Video At Home:

 By Rick Gasper

When I am asked what I use to edit video on my computer, I reply something like this: "Depends what the video is for" and the next question is "how much does it cost?

There are three parts to video editing, capture, editing and output; I’ll cover each one in a second.

Why do I like editing video, it is a lot of fun, I can be creative and finally, I can make a few bucks doing so. The really neat thing is using video to connect to another hobby. Since I belong to a paranormal research group, I use video editing to help my group.

Capture

To work with video, you need to get the video on your computer. This is the capture process. There are several ways to do this, first is ripping from a DVD or CD. This can be as easy as copying a file over or as difficult as using a program that does something that is legally questionable,
