SPRI-08-006:  Public BuildingWayne County

Date: April 24th 2008

Investigators Present:  Mark, Lauren, Thomas and Kelly

Equipment: DVR system with infrared cameras, Infrared handheld camcorders, digital voice recorders, EMF meter, digital cameras and laser.

Overview: The owners of this location contacted SPRI with reports of hearing footsteps in hallways and on stairs, banging and other strange noises in the building and locking doors only to find them unlocked at a later time. The clients claim the activity usually occurs when there is only one person in the building and all throughout the day. Yelling for the noise to stop will always make the noise stop for the entire day.

Upon investigating the building over the course of one night, SPRI was able to rule out the heating system and plumbing for knocking sounds but was not able to recreate or experience any sounds of knocking or footsteps when no one was moving.

A sweep of the entire building was conducted using a gauss meter and the expected level of EMF’S were noted in areas common to higher levels such as the fuse box and other electrical equipment. No anomalies were discovered.

SPRI is continuing to work with the client’s and have requested them to activate audio recording equipment when the activity starts to capture the sounds for analysis in an attempt to narrow down the causes of the unexplained sounds.

Due to the client’s request to keep sensitive information confidential, no location information, photos or names were included in this report.
